Dale Arnold said he didn't like it only because he thought the rest of the country was under the impression that people in Boston hate Buckner and this was a way of showing forgiveness. But, he doesn't think people in Boston actually hate Buckner. They may not hate him, but there is no doubt that the mere mention of his name up until this point can send shivers through an entire crowd in Boston. And, I think we can all agree that if Buckner had been asked to throw out the first pitch of the 2004 season (the first game after 03 ended with the Boone home run), there may have been climbing up to the top of the coke bottles and hurling themselves down onto the pavement.
