Terrible Terrell

Sal-Pal is an amazing writer and he barely disguises his contempt for TO.

Do you blame him as an Eagles fan having to watch three years of TO? And does it surprise you that TO now plays for the Cowboys, the home of Michael Irvin in the 90s? It shouldn't.

The Cowboys, like the Raiders in the 90s, tacitly accept that the best players are oftentimes the worst people. Jerry Jones is fine with it. But what makes TO so unique is that he ruins every team he plays for, despite his above average receiver skills. Sal-Pal makes this argument better than anyone I've ever seen or heard. It's amazing, really. I give ESPN a lot of credit for running this piece and promoting Sal-Pal's book.

But what about guys like Chad Johnson who flirt with becoming the next TO? Did you know that he and TO have the same agent, Drew Rosenhaus? What is it about Agent Drew's players that make them so damn obnoxious off the field? Does he instruct them to act like jerks when they want a new contract? Is it just a hardball tactic to piss off Marvin Lewis to the point that he'd rather trade Johnson than put up with him again?

I used to like Chad Johnson because his antics were actually pretty funny. Similar to Clinton Portis, Chad used to dress up and act like a clown for no good reason other than attracting attention. But now Chad wants out of Cincy and he starts acting like TO. Coincidence?

At the end of the day maybe I shouldn't be so hard on TO. While I deplore his antics off the field, he's been pretty good in Dallas and his criticisms have been muted so far. (Of course this makes me think Agent Drew is the one pulling the strings since TO is getting paid and now has a QB who will throw to him no matter what; suprise, he hasn't said a single negative thing about the Cowboys!) But of course that can always change. Romo may decide to take another trip to Central America next november and TO's head may just explode on the sidelines...
That would kick ass.
