Quote of the Week

"I don't feel I need to sell myself to the fans....They need to get on board now or keep their mouths shut." - Aaron Rodgers, Packers QB, who hasn't started a single NFL game.

I love that quote from Rodgers. He was being asked if he felt the need to be like a Brett Favre and really sell himself to the fans.

Rodgers is coming in to a tough spot because he's going to be constantly compared to Brett Favre. I like that he's confident enough to seperate himself like that.

And, in a way, he's right. He doesn't have to win anybody over. A real fan will be a fan regardless of who is under center.

As an aside, I think that it really sucks for Rodgers if Favre comes back again (which sounds like it is just a rumor at this point).

- the pack can't move Favre, because they were one play away from the super bowl with him last year.

- they can't trade rodgers to a place where he can start because favre is old and they need to keep a backup ready to take over.

- most backup qbs have the best job in the world, but not rodgers. he knows that his time is coming, so he has to work just as hard as a starter does. its not like being jim sorgi and pretty much having the sickest life ever.
